We also let the bartender create some masterpieces and each of us left with a grin on our face and possibly some lime juice dribbling down our chin. Tropical, Mexican goodness.

MisoHungry!- Shout out to our coordinator on the ground in Austin, Jenny Chen MisoHungry on Twitter who made our shows rocktastic. She helped organize the venues for us and for that we’re eternally grateful.

Firewire Vanishing – Why? – With our guests, both Tom and Molly, so accomplished in the tech and entertainment industry, we wanted to find out why anyone would do away with the standard that allows people to stream video right from their HD camera. We solved the problem with an informal conversation about how Steve Jobs should improve his method for looking ahead.

Who can you trust with your children? - A lively discussion with the parents in the group – Mike and Molly – about how you might not want to let just anyone play babysitter to your children. We got sidetracked by the drinks (MMMMmmmmm), but this was a talk you’ll love.

We Can End This- Shout out to our friends at We Can End This who put on a major grassroots campaign during the entire SXSW Festival to get people thinking about hunger in the United States. We paused to think about those going hungry during our meal at Manuel’s. And during every show we like to discuss how social channels can further causes.

RANT! Apple and iPhone App Strongarming - Molly is known to steam a bit about poor customer service, bad gadgets, inept organizations, hamfisted folks, and probably about 79 other themes. Today she and Tom got to share their thoughts on how a locked-down service like the Apple App Store is a FAIL.

During this Episode NomX3 Ate With a huge list of people. We still haven’t fully updated the list on our Twitter list but you can see the list of attendees here.

We are also very grateful to Brian Schwartz our fantastic editor. Without Brian we wouldn’t look half as good as we do. If you have video that needs editing or other rich media needs you’ll find no better than Brian.

Obnoxious Tweeters - All about the people who aren’t providing value to your Twitter stream. Why do you follow them and what redeeming value can they offer if you decide to lay off the trigger and not unfollow them.

Coworking Space – the New Paradigm - We’re in an environment where regular jobs are no longer the norm. Work shifting, sharing space and working where you can are now the model. We chat about how this came about and what’s great about this new habit/attitude/opportunity.

RANT! Bathroom Door Faux Pas! – KNOCK PLEASE! - Jeff gets wild and wooly with a rant that starts out fine and then goes fully off the rails as he weaves from the crazy into the risque. Sure, people should knock, but Jeff contends that from now on he’s leaving the door unlocked just to punish people who walk in on him while he’s atop the toilet.

Packing Correctly for Conferences- Thanks to Justin Levy – @justinlevy on Twitter – who gave us the inspiration for our tech topic. He shared with readers the way he prepares for conferences and we took that info to heart as we got ready for our upcoming journeys. From the right shoes to the right technology, we use Justin’s guide to make ourselves travel geniuses.

The Right Tools - When you have the wrong screwdriver, you’re the one getting screwed. Same holds true if you have the wrong glass for your wine, wrong tire on your scooter, wrong hairdryer for your hair, and so on. We explore and underscore the need for everyone (and every task) to be paired with the right tools.

RANT! Conversational Misbehavior – The Yuppers - Like the low talker, the close talker, and many other folks who don’t align themselves with societal norms of conversation…there are many folks who don’t pick up on conversational cues. These are the folks who can talk hungry dogs off a meat truck or those who can talk the bark off a tree. We make fun of them and ask you viewers how this can happen.

Conversation Topics

1. Technology of Beer – Let’s talk a bit about the technology of beer making.

2. Movember – We are letting our Mo grow to raise money for a cure for prostate cancer.

3. Social Brewers - Which beer makers are using social media engagement to its fullest?

4. Rant! The Drinking Age – If you are old enough to die for your country, serve as a public official or vote you should be able to choose to have a beer.

As Mike Langford and Jeff Cutler have determined, it’s far better to eat lunch out with friends than it is to sit at your desk and eat a yogurt. That’s the premise behind NomX3 – Let’s Do Lunch! Our voyage into Donohue’s was at the behest of Mike Schneider whose own show – Belching Monkey – deals with a different type of eating. The eating of beer. He thought it would be great to put Jeff Cutler and Mike Langford in front of a camera – wearing silly mustaches* – talking about beer. We thought it would be fun to cover our lifestyle, technology and rant with a beer fiend and humanitarian like Mike Schneider. So it all worked out. Here’s the episode. *The Mustaches. As you’ve seen if you’ve watched the show during the month of November, we’re sporting mustaches for charity. In honor and support of Movember, Mike and I are now mustachioed and manly. We’re raising money to help in the search for a cure for Testicular and Prostate Cancer. Learn more here. Through the course of a foggy afternoon – foggy because of the beer – we had excellent sandwiches (look for a future episode of LUNCH at Donohue’s in 2010), great conversation and beers from the 1970s and 1980s. That’s right, High Life, Bud, Naragansett, etc. They all made the cut and they all made us talk. Aside from the classic beer, we had a great studio audience for this show including Bobbie Carlton, Kelly Kassa, Steve Garfield, Todd Randolph and others. They helped keep us honest with questions tossed in about the beer and some great comments about their lunch choices. What’s my take-away? That lunch at Donohue’s is a deal. The beer was cheap and the food was good. Next time we’re there we’ll detail the menu and really go to taste town on the place. Want us to visit your favorite hangout? Shoot us a tweet or an email or leave a comment right here on the blog. Thanks!

As Mike Langford and Jeff Cutler have determined, it’s far better to eat lunch out with friends than it is to sit at your desk and eat a yogurt. That’s the premise behind NomX3 – Let’s Do Lunch!

Bread and Lily Cafe and Catering went without a hitch. For once we found a venue that had outlets and Wifi. It didn’t hurt that the menu was tasty and quite affordable.

Ben Cutler – lots of relation to me, Jeff Cutler – is the owner of the restaurant and bent over backward to serve us some great dishes. He also told us about house-made foods, sweet potato chips and the magic of making hungry people happy.

Best part of this episode, aside from the food shots and the brilliant conversation, is the rant I get on at the end. Take a look and tell us what you think. I think I get wound up about six or seven minutes from the end of the show.

Noms? I gave it four out of four. Or maybe five out of five. Nom nom nom. Lunch at Bread and Lily.

1. Bundling – Sometimes bundling of services makes sense and sometimes…not so much.

2. Happy Birthday Internet! – The internet turned 40 on Oct 3oth. Like many things it was born out of the unintended utility of something else.

3. Channel Discrimination – On one channel it’s a free service and on another it’s a paid service. What?

4. Movember – We are letting our Mo grow to raise money for a cure for prostate cancer.

As Mike Langford and Jeff Cutler have determined, it’s far better to eat lunch out with friends than it is to sit at your desk and eat a yogurt. That’s the premise behind NomX3 – Let’s Do Lunch!

Somehow it seems that the high-end restaurants bring out the best in studio audiences. We video the show live – which means we often have our Livestream feed going – and we do the show in one take without revised shots. Except for when I – Jeff Cutler – mess up the intro or the farewell.

Take a moment to watch the show and tell us what you think. Did I mess it up?

At Mooo on Beacon Hill, the pattern persisted. Some great food for Lunch and a massive studio audience made for a fantastic video program. Lunch was a success that day and my favorite memories were the tuna tartare and the beverages.

Thanks to those who show up week after week to see NomX3 do lunch. Good food is only the start – great conversation is the real sustinence behind NomX3.

1. Events – Leveraging social media to put on a successful event, like this one.

2. Rant! Answer the social media phone! – Too many companies have social media identities but fail to interact with customers.

Mike calls out Skype, a service he loves and uses daily, for their failure to answer his and other customers questions via social media channels (including Skype’s own forum).

Jeff hails Comcast as an example of a company doing it right.

3. Halloween – How has trick or treating changed since you were a kid?

Special thanks to Chad Northrup for manning the camera while getting his noms on with a Ted’s burger.

As Mike Langford and Jeff Cutler have determined, it’s far better to eat lunch out with friends than it is to sit at your desk and eat a yogurt. That’s the premise behind NomX3 – Let’s Do Lunch!

Bison…or as I pronounce it BIZON…is a unique taste. Just as our conversations over lunch are unique and touch on technology, social media, lifestyle topics and a rant, our food choices run the gamut.

Ted Turner wasn’t able to be on hand for our filming at Ted’s Montana Grill, but the staff there performed as if all the lights of the TBS cameras were on them. Big name company means big sky food. Big Sky is Montana and Montana means bison. See our burgers during the show.

I liked the burger. Never let it be said that Jeff Cutler won’t try different dishes. I might wimp out and not eat hot sauce, but I’ll definitely try beef.

Most memorable part of the lunch? I was cheered on…or maybe it was my co-host who was cheered by his youngest child. Lunch is for the entire family!

NomX3 is a family video show. Never forget that. Ted’s Montana Grill? Nom Nom Nom. And two more Noms – for a total of five out of five. Great show.

Mike made sure the show flowed and we didn’t run too long.

Gretchen Kinder – Clown Face added another component of calm in a frenetic and exciting evening. With stints at the check-in table, drink-ticket station and break-down, her help was much appreciated.
